Things to do in Arcachon Bay
There is a lot to discover in the area, you’ll be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the Médoc region and the ocean from the promenade of the Dune of Pilat which stretches over 1.7 mi (2.7 km). You can also get on one of the shuttles in Arcachon, it will take you on a tour of Bird Island, a small paradise in the middle of the bay. The Leyre river, which crosses the Landes regional park, is navigable by canoe or paddle boat, but you can also walk or cycle along it. You can go to one of the many beaches and swim in the ocean or go to the bay if you prefer calmer waters.
Discover the Bay
Every day, a market is held in one of the 10 cities of the bay area. There is no better way to discover local produce, go for a walk or go to brunch.
When the weather is nice, visit the peninsula of Lège Cap-Ferret and admire its lighthouse. You’ll get to try out seafood at one of the different oyster-farming villages.
